Reloading memories

The night Ralph and Ella were attacked by a bunch of criminals who had developed hate and anger towards androids was the beginning of the end. The men started to attack Ralph, spitting on him, trying to beat him and let him feel all the hate they had for his kind. Ella didn’t hesitate for a second and interfered, trying to stop the men from hurting him but no matter how much she struggled she wasn’t strong enough. The men, laughing and mocking the young woman who obviously seemed to be in love with the android now started to beat Ella. Ralph couldn’t watch them hurting her and fought to distract them, but they were to many. Soon they had managed to knock the android to the ground and started torturing him with bursting laughter, burning the left side of his face and damaging his body. Ella, who lied on the floor, bleeding, almost unconcious could only watch and cry for them to stop, but they didn’t. 

When Ralph woke up, almost all of his memories were gone. His memory had been damaged so hard that he could hardly recall his own name. But he remembered the men, his fear and the pain. Slight memories of a crying young woman, but nothing more … Scared by the terrible things those humans did, he fled and hid himself in an abandoned house, trying to recall what was before. But not being able to.

This picture shows the moment right after Ella was able to find Ralph after years had passed. She had been lucky and had survived her injuries. Then she embarked on her way to find the android she loved. When she accidentally found him aimlessly strolling through the dark alleys, he wasn’t able to recognise her and even implied to defend himself with the knife he carried. But Ella wasn’t scared. She knew him, she knew who he was and that the Ralph she knew would never hurt her. She approached him, laying her hands on his cheeks tearfully perceiving the results of the criminal’s attack and telling him what her heart felt in this very moment. How happy she was to have found him back.

Feeling her soft and intimate touch, pictures started to appear in Ralph’s memory and as he said her name, tears were mixing with the raindrops.

She lived. She was back and here with him. The woman - the human - he loved.
